April will be arriving soon!
We will be hosting over 60 programs this April for children, teens, families, and adults.
It will be a busy month for us, and we hope you will come along for the ride!
We will also offer some special programs at the beginning of the month to celebrate the solar eclipse on April 8. Attendance at any of these special programs will earn you a pair of free eclipse glasses!
For those excited about the eclipse and are looking forward to a free pair of glasses, check out the following programs. For children and families, join us at 4 p.m. Monday for Creativity Corner, where we will be creating eclipse art with chalk. At 4 p.m. April 2, we will be hosting a craft program where we make cases for our eclipse glasses.
At 5 p.m. April 5, we will have a family movie night with an eclipse-themed movie, popcorn and drinks.
Adults can join our monthly painting group Brush Hour at 5:30 p.m. Monday, where we will be painting an eclipse. At 3:30 p.m. next Wednesday, we will host a crochet class to crochet an eclipse. Finally, everyone can join us for our Eclipse Watch Party at 2:30 p.m. April 8 in our rear parking lot! We will provide snacks and more eclipse glasses.
Now on to our regularly scheduled programs for children, teens, and families!
A 11 a.m. April 6, play our Nintendo Switch for “Switch” It Up and then stick around for Building Club, where we will break out the Legos at noon.
Teens can join us for “I Felt That,” where we will needle felt carrots at 4 p.m. April 9 in our new Teen Space. Try out our 3D pens to make some spring-themed 3D Doodles at 3 p.m. April 17. Another offering of this program is available later in the month.
We will host a Family Game Night at 5:30 p.m. April 17, where you can look forward to playing a variety of games. Join us in reading to the Mountaineer Therapy Dogs for our Reading to Dogs event at 6 p.m. April 23.
Teens are invited to participate in (T.A.G.) Teen Afternoon Gaming at 3 p.m. April 24.
Join us for our recurring programs as well!
Every Monday at 11 a.m. we host Juice Box Social for children and their caregivers to socialize, every Tuesday at 3 p.m. we host All Ages Chess Club, every Wednesday at noon we have our Brilliant Beginnings storytime, every Thursday at 3 p.m. we have our Little Learner storytime, and also every Thursday at 4 p.m. is our Snackchat teen program.
Adults can look forward to a busy April as well!
At 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, we will have our monthly writing group, The Write Connection.
At 1 p.m. April 4, join us for Philosophy Hour to discuss a variety of topics. There is a second offering of Philosophy Hour the following week.
Tech Savvy, our technology class for older adults, will be held at 1 p.m. April 10 and 5 p.m. April 11. This month’s focus is on social media.
Join us for a matinee at 1 p.m. April 12, where we will provide popcorn and drinks.
We will be doing Constellation Embroidery at 5 p.m. April 15.
Our American Sign Language class, Signing Made Easy, will be held at 5 p.m. April 16. This class is appropriate for all ages.
Local historian Dick Duez will present at our Genealogy Roundtable at 5 p.m. April 24.
All ages are invited to our Indoor Planting Day at 5 p.m. April 26.
Try out our 3D printer at 5 p.m. April 29, where we will be making a key holder.
