CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) — Patrick C. “PC” Davis, 88, of Clarksburg, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024 in Elkins.
He was born on July 15, 1935 in West Union, a son of the late Oscar Leon Davis and Lorena Fahey Davis.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Barbara Lee Ash Davis, who passed away on April 10, 2013.
Pat is survived by his three children, Patrick (Mike) Davis and wife Sandy, Martin (Sean) Davis and wife Jackie, Laura (Beth) Davis Martin and husband Mitch; six grandchildren, Jason Smith, Dakota Davis, Stacy Martin, Sarah Davis Zajic and husband Frank, Shelby Bradford, and Bob Bradford; great-grandchildren, Jacob Smith, Madeline Zajic, and Jude Davis; sisters, Lois Jean Scott, Eleanor Casler, Sandra Davis, and Terry Bullough; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Pat was also preceded in death by his brother, Michael Putnam Davis; one sister, Joan Terango.
Pat was a 1953 graduate of El Paso High School and then later received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Maryland. Pat proudly served in the United States Army, where he served in many government functions for the benefit of our Nation.
While serving in the army, he also served in many capacities with other agencies and other service missions, working closely with the Kennedy and the Johnson Administrations. Following his time serving the country he returned to Clarksburg where he worked at Union Carbide as a Union Stewart for over 20 years and also with the Atomic Chemical Worker, until his retirement.
Pat was a member of the Herman Lodge #6 AF&AM, and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, Clarksburg Commandery No. 13 Knights Templar, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Clarksburg American Legion Post 13. He enjoyed rabbit hunting, frog gigging, fishing, and other outdoor activities. Pat and his wife, Barbara, were excellent dancers and enjoyed dancing together for years.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, WV 26301 for visitation on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 4 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. with Reverend Michael Burge officiating. Family and friends will meet at Davis Funeral Home on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 10 a.m. to go in procession to the West Virginia National Cemetery for the Graveside Service 11 a.m. with Military Honors provided by the United States Army and the Harrison County Honor Guard. Herman Lodge #6 AF & AM will meet at 10 a.m. at the Davis Funeral Home prior to processing to the cemetery for the purpose of attending and conducting the Masonic Graveside Service.
