SHINNSTON, W.Va. (WV News) — Jimmy Joe Tate, 63, of Shinnston, passed away on March 28, 2024.
He was born in Clarksburg on November 25, 1960, a son to the late Louie Tate and Betty Moorehead Tate.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his uncles, John, Frank, Tony, Sam, Albert, and Paul Tate.
He is survived by his daughter, Kalyn Tate, and her boyfriend Jordan Miller; best friends, Greg Hurd, Mike Stalnaker, and Chuck Stalnaker; cousin, Butch Tate; aunt, Mary Tate; and Ben from Kroger.
Jimmy Joe worked at Kroger. He enjoyed hanging out with his cat Leo and watching old Westerns. He loved his daughter, and anything they could do together, they did. Together, they enjoyed cooking dinner, taking drives through and outside of town, and going to Cass Railroad and Blackwater Falls.
Friends will be received at Harmer Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 5 p.m. with Pastor Robert Shingleton officiating. Per his wishes, cremation will follow the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his care fund at Harmer Funeral Home, PO Box 1852 Shinnston, WV 26431.
