FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WV News) — Donald Lucas, 84, of Rivesville, West Virginia, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024.
Donald was born April 16, 1939, to the late Guy and Lenore (Robinson) Lucas in Worthington, WV.
Don was in the Army in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, from 1956-1959. He had previously worked for Twin Mobile Homes in Pennsylvania, DeMuir Mobile Homes in Ohio, Grim Crane Services in Ohio, and managed several mobile home parks in Ohio.
Don spent his retirement with the love of his life, Phyllis Webster, spending the winters fishing on the lake in Florida and the summers at the home at Middlefork Camp Ground, surrounded by their wonderful friends. He enjoyed sharing his woodworking crafts with everyone and was an avid hunter. He also enjoyed teaching his great-grandchildren how to hunt and fish.
Don is survived by his brother, Larry Lucas of Clarksburg, WV; his sister, Janice Cecil of Ohio; his daughter, Robin Cosner of WV; step-daughter, Missy Woods of Ohio; his granddaughter, Haley Cosner of WV; grandson, Cadence Cosner of WV; great-grandchildren, Kloey Cosner and Lyric Mitchell, of WV.
Don was preceded in death by the love of his life, Phyllis Webster; his sisters, Bertha Mae Goff, Wilma Pearl Holcomb, Mary Louise Feathers, Wanda Jean Shoup, and Linda Sue Jordan; his brothers, Dorsey Eugene Lucas and Robert Lee Lucas; and grandson, Jeramy Cosner.
Don’s family will honor his wishes for a cremation and no service. We will hold a Celebration of Life at his home at Middlefork Camp Ground in June 2024.
