KEYSER, W.Va. — Madison Shoemaker was crowned the 80th Miss Golden Tornado Sunday night at Keyser High School.
Forty-four young ladies participated in the pageant that is used as a fundraiser for the Journalism Department at KHS to help lower the cost of student yearbooks. The theme of this year’s pageant was “Let’s Go Girls!”
Contestants participated in both casual wear and formal wear categories. Then, each of the top ten contestants was asked about a woman in her life who has had a significant impact on their lives and why they feel that way.
First runner-up was Aubrey Fisher, second runner-up was McKenzie Sowers, third runner-up was Kailynn Burns, and fourth runner-up was Amaya Bartlett. Rounding out the Top Ten were Braely Burton, Hadley Courtney, Abby DelSignore, Ava Duckworth, and Kylie Keplinger.
Escorts for the evening were Leland Inskeep, Ian Spiker, Jullian Pattison, Josh Shoemaker, Logan Rotruck, Wyatt Murray, Patrick Liller, Chase Davis, Alex Fazzalore, and Austin Smith.
