MORGANTOWN — Point guard Jordan McCabe, a 4-star recruit out of Kaukauna High (Wisc.) has called a press conference for this evening and is expected to announce his commitment to West Virginia University in 2018, according to a source close to his recruitment.
McCabe (5-11, 160) is a Top 100 recruit who was being pursued by the likes of home state schools Wisconsin and Marquette, along with Missouri.
Despite the fact that he is still a couple of years away from entering college, he has been known for a while, ever since his junior high tape caught fire on the internet.
This past year the sophomore led his school to the Wisconsin WIAA Division 2 State championship, scoring a game-high 24 points with six steals in a 91-62 rout of top-ranked Waunakee.
He got his team to the Finals with a 31-point performance that included five 3s in a 72-45 demolishing of No. 4 ranked La Crosse Center in the semifinals.
His ball-handling skills have caused a number of comparisons to the great “Pistol” Pete Maravich.
He was first feature on USA NETWORK-WISCONSIN when he was 10 years old and again at age 14.
