SHINNSTON — Norma Lou Curry Anderson, age 83, of Shinnston, passed away May 30, following a brief illness at her home surrounded by her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Norma was born January 4, 1932, in Boothsville, the daughter of the late Mary and Leo Curry.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ralph Anderson; daughter, Krista Yopp and husband Rick of Parkersburg; and granddaughter, Sarah Yopp of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; daughter, Cindy Scott and husband Randy of Shinnston; granddaughter, Amy Woods and husband Brian and great-daughters Hayley, Hannah and Hope Woods of Good Hope; grandson, Ben Scott and wife Melissa and great-granddaughters Olivia and Anaston Scott of Shinnston. She is also survived by honorary granddaughter, McKenna Price of Shinnston; and nieces and nephew, Sandy McCrea, Vickie Buchenroth, Charlotte Moran and Kevin Boyce, all of Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Bryan Anderson.
Norma was a member of the Shinnston High School graduating Class of 1950 and attended Fairmont State College. She was a homemaker, avid bowler on various leagues for 37 years, Sunday School teacher for over 25 years and Girl Scout Troop 58 leader from Brownies-Seniors. Norma was a member of Life Builders Fellowship Church in Bridgeport.
Family and friends called from 2-8 p.m. Monday, June 1, at Harmer Funeral Home, 300 Pike St., Shinnston. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 2 at 11 a.m., with the Reverend Don Johnson presiding. Interment will follow at the Harmony Grove Cemetery in Taylor County.
