PENNSBORO — William Kevin Snider, 65, of St. Mary’s, WV, departed this life on Thursday, September 3, 2015, at his residence, following an extended and courageous battle with cancer.
Kevin was born April 8, 1950, in Pennsboro, WV, a son of William H. Snider of Pennsboro, WV, and the late Mabel (Napier) Snider.
Kevin was the former president and co-owner of Ritchie Petroleum Corporation Inc. of Pennsboro, WV, for 40 years. He was a very active, devoted and unnamed beneficiary for his community. He had been a member of the Pennsboro Volunteer Fire Department for 24 years, where he served as president, vice president and on the board of directors. He was also a former volunteer for the Pennsboro Emergency Squad, starting as an EMT and later receiving his paramedic license, and was also a member of the Pennsboro Tracy Lake Park Board.
He was a proud graduate of Pennsboro High School with the Class of 1968 and served on the Ritchie County Firefighters Association and on the 911 Advisory Board.
Kevin was an avid stamp and coin collector.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of seven years, Catherine “Cathy” (Scadden) Snider; son, Thomas Snider (Amy) of Valrico, FL; daughter, Jeri “Jerica” Hickman (Robert) of Pennsboro, WV; grandsons, Dalton and Austin Hickman and Will and Nicholas Snider; brother, Terry Snider of Tyler County, WV; four stepchildren; stepgrandchildren, Francheska, Alexia and Jonathan, who live in the family home; and eight additional stepgrandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 2015, at the McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, WV, with Corey Eline officiating.
Burial will follow in the Ellenboro Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
