The Harrison County Sheriff’s Street Crimes and Drug unit arrested two suspects and is seeking a third for allegedly operating a meth lab in an Oakmound apartment.
CLARKSBURG — The Harrison County Sheriff’s Street Crimes and Drug Unit shut down an active meth lab Friday morning and made two arrests in connection with its operation at an apartment in Oakmound in Clarksburg.
The SCAD unit is seeking a third person who escaped custody while handcuffed in a police cruiser and fled.
Justin R. Golden, 24, of Clarksburg, faces nearly a dozen felony charges, including two counts of delivery/sale of methamphetamine, Harrison Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Jeffrey J. McAtee said.
Arrested at the scene were Timothy Joshua Golden, 27, and Ariel Nichole Ware, 24, both of Clarksburg.
Ware has been charged with operating a methamphetamine lab, possession of precursors to manufacture meth, possession of meth with intent to distribute, possession of Xanax with intent to distribute, child neglect creating risk of injury and four conspiracy charges related to the manufacture, possession with intent and delivery of meth, according to the criminal complaints.
Timothy Golden was charged with possession with intent to distribute Xanax, child neglect creating risk of injury, possession of precursors to manufacture meth, possession with intent to distribute meth, operating a clandestine drug lab and two conspiracy charges related to operation and possession with intent to manufacture meth, the complaints show.
Timothy Golden appeared before Senior Magistrate Nancy J. Means, who set a cash or surety bond at $175,000.
Ware appeared before Magistrate Warren E. “Gizzy” Davis, who set bond at $225,000.
Both were unable to post bond and are incarcerated at the North Central Regional Jail in Doddridge County.
The SCAD unit executed the search warrant early Friday morning at Ware’s apartment with the assistance of the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department’s Meth Lab Response Team. They located two meth labs, all the precursors and lab gear to manufacture methamphetamine, and finished methamphetamine packaged for resale inside the apartment, along with 20 Xanax pills.
The affected section of the apartment complex was evacuated and ventilated with assistance from the Clarksburg Fire Department and Clarksburg Police Department, McAtee said.
Ware had two small children who lived with her in the apartment, but were not present at the time of the raid. However, Ware admitted to law enforcement that the children had been present in the apartment during a previous “meth cook,” McAtee said.
The U.S. Marshals Mountain State Fugitive Task Force is assisting other law enforcement in locating Justin Golden.
Anyone with information on the location of Justin Golden is asked to contact the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department at (304) 623-6655.
Meanwhile, State Police arrested a 27-year-old Clarksburg man Friday on charges of conspiracy and breaking and entering.
Guillermo “William” Espinoza is accused by State Police Trooper K.M. Parker of entering a vacant residence in Clarksburg with another male and removing multiple tools, including cordless drills, circular saws and a shop-vac.
The tools have been recovered, according to the criminal complaint.
Espinoza appeared Friday before Senior Magistrate Means, who set bond at $15,000. Espinoza was unable to post bond and is in the North Central Regional Jail.
