Clarksburg house damaged in fire

Clarksburg firefighter Mark Bacon removes a dog carrier from a house damaged in a fire Thursday at 635 W. Main St. A woman and three dogs and a cat who lived in the two-story house escaped uninjured, Clarksburg Fire Capt. Steve Pulice said. The fire, reported shortly before 3 p.m., started in a crawl space beneath first-floor bathroom, Pulice said. Firefighters had the fire under control within 20 minutes, Pulice said. An electrical short is the suspected cause, he added.
