Audit cites Lewis County for providing digital records to Chesapeake Energy

WESTON — An oil and gas company now has digital copies of deeds, leases, property transfers and other Lewis County land and mineral ownership rights records, drawing a red flag in a state audit.

But the violation of West Virginia Code is not just isolated to Lewis County, a state official confirmed.
