CLARKSBURG — Harrison Judge Thomas A. Bedell sentenced one drug defendant to prison Friday and held a plea hearing for a second.
Bedell sentenced Jolea B. Rhodes, 24, of Clarksburg, to one to 15 years in prison, according to the office of Prosecutor Joe Shaffer.
Rhodes was sentenced for delivery of heroin and conspiracy to deliver the drug.
Rhodes’ bond was revoked last month after it was learned she had tested positive for heroin, Chief Assistant Prosecutor Susan Morris previously said.
Bedell accepted guilty pleas from Marquise Terrell “Rello” Tillman, 26, to delivery and conspiracy to commit delivery.
The state will make no sentencing recommendation. Tillman’s counsel will be able to argue sentencing.
Tillman could face two to 20 years in prison if Bedell imposes the maximum term.
The cases were investigated by the Harrison County Street Crimes and Drug unit.

- Barbour Magistrate Kathi S. McBee has set a probable cause hearing Thursday for James Scott Alexander on a malicious wounding charge.
Alexander drove his truck into his brother during a New Year’s Day party in Moatsville, resulting in injuries to the sibling that required an airlift for treatment at Ruby Memorial Hospital, State Police Sgt. J.A. Wyatt has alleged.
Alexander was freed on bond after an initial appearance earlier this month.
- Barbour Magistrate McBee has scheduled a probable cause hearing Wednesday for Timothy Matthew Starkey Jr.
Starkey is charged with grand larceny by Philippi Patrol Officer S.A. Miller in the alleged theft of a vehicle Monday.
Starkey’s bond was set at $5,000 property or surety. Starkey remains lodged at the Western Regional Jail on charges from Putnam County.
- David W. Lipscomb, 31, of Anmoore, has been sentenced to one to 10 years in prison by Bedell, according to Morris.
Lipscomb was sentenced for financial exploitation of an elderly or incapacitated adult, Morris said.
The defendant took advantage of an elderly relative, resulting in a total loss of $2,000 over six or seven occasions of wrongdoing, Morris said.
- Jamie Lynn Metheny, 27, of Bruceton Mills, has been charged in Harrison County with three counts of felony fraudulent use of an access device.
Metheny found a City National debit card on the ground in Morgantown, then used it to buy items in Uniontown, Pa., Harrison County and Monongalia County, Clarksburg Detective Sgt. Jason Webber has alleged.
Metheny acknowledged she was responsible for nearly $6,400 in debits on the account, and almost $1,600 of that occurred in Clarksburg, Webber has alleged.
Webber charged Metheny with one count, while Bridgeport Officer F.S. Toothman lodged two counts against the defendant.
Metheny was released on $7,500 bond after an initial appearance before Harrison Magistrate Frank DeMarco.
- Aaron Devon Williams, 23, of Marietta, Ga., was fined the maximum $500 by Bedell for obtaining property in return for a worthless check, according to Shaffer’s office.
Williams had been accused of passing worthless checks to buy two vehicles worth a total of about $45,000.
No restitution was sought by the state. The vehicles — a 2007 Hummer and 2007 Dodge pickup — were returned to the dealership in about the same shape as when they were transferred, Assistant Prosecutor Traci Cook previously said.
Harrison Sheriff’s Sgt. Rob Waybright investigated.
